The most surprising thing about Alde Garden? Our Guests tell us!

Alde Garden has been our home for over 10 years now.  So there’s not much about the campsite which surprises us anymore.  Of course we are constantly awed by the beautiful Suffolk countryside & the wildlife we find here….and our brilliant guests, of course.  However we’re always delighted when our guest tell us we’ve taken them by surprise with something! I’ve collected some surprising facts about Alde Garden.

Whether you’re a regular or a new guest; why not take a read through & let us know your thoughts on our ‘surprising’ little campsite?

You don’t have to camp

Of course we’re a campsite so most of the accomodation is geared towards camping.  We’ve got yurts, bell tents, a gypsy caravan and various other ‘rustic glamping’ accomodation.  You can even bring your own tent to pitch too but if camping isn’t your jam you can still enjoy a stay at Alde Garden.  Badger Cottage is our romantic & quirky self catering hideaway.  With 2 luxurious bedrooms, a log-burning stove and all the comforts of home this is the perfect option for visitors to enjoy Alde Garden in the finest style.

There’s so much to do

The thing we hear the most from our guests is that they wished they’d booked a longer stay!  Partly this is because guests don’t realise how much they’ll love the campsite itself, and partly because we are surrounded by interesting days out!  Suffolk is beautiful, steeped in history and packed with exciting things to do.  Within just 10 miles of the campsite visitors can explore a castle, vinyard, farm park, maltings & concert hall, the coast & wildlife reserve.  With plenty to keep guests entertained both inside & outside the campsite, longer stays are definitely advised!

We’ve got everything – including the kitchen sink

Lots of our guests kick themselves when they realise how substantially they’ve overpacked.  We have lots of the basics (and a few luxuries) to make your stay stress-free.  On site there is a field-kitchen; complete with pots & pans, an honesty shop, games, bikes and some accommodation includes bedding.  Make sure you peruse our website before your stay so you can concentrate on packing only what you need.

We’ve got our own pub

We keep ourselves busy by running two businesses; both Alde Garden Campite & Sweffling White Horse.  This means our lucky campsite guests can order drinks straight to their tents, or they can pop in for dinner if they don’t feel like cooking. It’s an ideal partnership!

You’ll fall in love with the residents

EVERYONE loves the ducks!  We like to keep our landscaping as natural as possible so we are a haven for all types of plant and animal life.  Our resident ducks and chickens get a lot of love from visitors.  The ducks & chickens are only too happy to share their garden too! Regular guests get to know their names and personalities but even if you’re just here for a short stay I guarantee you’ll be charmed by them.
