Rendlesham Forest offers a great day out for walkers or mountain bikers. With a range of walking routes and cycling trails for all levels of ability; it’s a perfect location for getting active whilst still enjoying nature.
Suffolk and Norfolk are also home to some outstandingly beautiful waterways. And what better way to explore them than from a kayak, canoe or paddleboard. Iken Canoe hire is just a 16 minute drive from the campsite, and a great starting point to explore the River Alde.

For History Buffs:
Framlingham Castle is within easy cycling distance of the garden, or just 10 minutes away by car. Make sure to check the website as there are often extra events and tours here too.
Site of Anglo Saxon treasure, Sutton Hoo is another must-visit for guests at Alde Garden. The recently opened viewing tower offers incredible views across the River Deben and surrounding landscape too!
For Beach Lovers:
The coastline near Alde Garden is one of the area’s most treasured features. For a sandy beach and busy town, we recommend Lowestoft or Felixstowe. For quaint seaside towns with boutiques and restaurants, head to Aldeburgh or Southwold.
