Attractions for all in Suffolk

Attractions for all!
Suffolk has such a variety of places to visit and experiences to enjoy, that no matter what interests you, we can suggest a day out from Alde Garden.

For people on the go:
Rendlesham Forest offers a great day out for walkers or mountain bikers. With a range of walking routes and cycling trails for all levels of ability; it’s a perfect location for getting active whilst still enjoying nature.
Suffolk and Norfolk are also home to some outstandingly beautiful waterways. And what better way to explore them than from a kayak, canoe or paddleboard.  Iken Canoe hire is just a 16 minute drive from the campsite, and a great starting point to explore the River Alde.

For History Buffs:
Framlingham Castle is within easy cycling distance of the garden, or just 10 minutes away by car.  Make sure to check the website as there are often extra events and tours here too.
Site of Anglo Saxon treasure, Sutton Hoo is another must-visit for guests at Alde Garden. The recently opened viewing tower offers incredible views across the River Deben and surrounding landscape too!

For Beach Lovers:
The coastline near Alde Garden is one of the area’s most treasured features.  For a sandy beach and busy town, we recommend Lowestoft or Felixstowe. For quaint seaside towns with boutiques and restaurants, head to Aldeburgh or Southwold.  If you’re after a more rugged beach without all the tourists check out our blog to discover our pick of the best secluded beaches in Suffolk.

For Well-being Warriors
Secret Sauna is a wood-fired sauna cabin perched on the banks of the River Waveney near Bungay, astride the Norfolk and Suffolk border. Off-grid and hidden. Available for bookings for those looking to unwind and enjoy nature.
You can also book a range of treatments to take place right in your accommodation at Alde Garden.  From ‘pamper packages’ to aromatherapy to massages – check out our EXTRAS page to find out how to book.
